“I have been leading Love To Live Classes for a local Residential Care Facility every fortnight since the end of September and yesterday "overheard" and received feedback from both the Diversional Therapist who originally booked me for seated Zumba Gold (BUT I thought Love To Live would be far better suited to them and hence why I did the training) AND one of the Nursing Staff.

Diversional Therapist speaking about the Love To Live Program To an AO : "It is one of the best programs we have ever put on our Timetable.....The residents just Love It"

Facility Nurse To Me In Conversation: "We cannot get the males here to go to ANYTHING, but as soon as we say your class is on this morning, they are the first ones there"

Made me smile......So glad I chose Love To Live to give to them.

“The Love to Live Program is ideal for Hedley Sutton residents, irrespective of their degree of ageing or disability. To a greater or lesser extent, all who attend, exhibit engagement with the class.

Michelle is an excellent co-ordinator. She is enthusiastic, and this feature is conveyed to participants as evidenced by their response.

The sense of rhythm is the earliest response of a human being as well as the final. The choice of music in the class is both uplifting and soothing and suitably provides rhythmic accompaniment for improved strength and mobility exercises, it also enhances confidence in walking co-ordination.

With an average participation of 30 (not withstanding enthusiastic staff), a significant opportunity exists to expand the scope of this activity at Hedley Sutton.”

Happily ever after

You and the Angel discuss dates for them to return.

The Angel becomes an important part of your community by connecting and having regular sessions with your residents.

What type of movements are included in the class?

  • A broad range of movements designed specifically to be performed in the chair whilst engaging a large variety of joints and muscle groups

  • Movement combinations to stimulate brain activity and improve motor function

  • Use of rhythm for coordination, symmetry of movement and group synchronisation

  • And, of course, there are movements thrown in just because they are fun and make us laugh and connect with one another. After all, laughter is the best medicine
